During undergraduate school at San Francisco State University Katie began working with low income communities to organize against gang violence. After graduating Cum Laude, Katie began her career as a child and family advocate working with high risk emotionally and physically abused youth.
When she completed her juris doctorate degree from The University of Arizona James Earl. Rogers College of Law in 2003, Katie continued to pursue her passion for social justice as the sole housing attorney for Southern Arizona Legal Aid defending Indigent clients in eviction and termination of public housing benefits cases. She also developed a curriculum to educate social service agencies and other attorneys regarding tenant’s rights.
In 2010, Katie opened her own practice and began practicing primarily in family law while doing some tenant’s rights cases pro bono. She also worked as counsel at Pima County Juvenile Court representing parents and children in Department of Child Safety cases.
After being in Tucson for over 20 years Katie relocated to Phoenix to further pursue her career in Family Law and to explore the benefits and attractions of a much larger Metropolitan Community. She enjoys biking, traveling, playing music (drums & guitar) and hiking with her dogs.
A highly skilled and accomplished Juvenile and Family Law attorney, Katie’s dedication to clients, her attention to detail, and strong knowledge of family law results in excellent outcomes for her clients.
